thank you Mr. Nickerson for all the wonderful suitcases and backpacks. I work
for harbor schools/easter seals in Massachusetts and the kids I work with ARE
your trash bag kids. Sometimes when they come into our shelter/program they are
lucky to even have a shopping bag with their belongings packed in it. Or they
come in with nothing at all.Our staff are always bringing in clothing donations
or hygenie products to our kids because simply the kids just don’t have. NOW
they HAVE a suitcase to put their things in. What self esteem this brings our
children NOW they don’t feel like their lives are trash or they are trash. TO
ALL OF YOU WHO donated your bags/suitcases. THANK YOU how many kind hearted
people out there went out and purchased brand new with tags still on them for
your cause THANK YOU SO MUCH. While I was there picking up suitcases I
personally thanked so many people who dropped off that morning at Pentucket
Regional High School. TO ALL YOUR VOLUNTEERS thank you for all your help
cleaning, disinfecting, packing and moving all of the suitcases. There was so
much love at the school that morning I was so happy. As for my kids at program
they were so grateful for the donation that this gave them a little hurdle help
to do what they needed to do to move on with their lives and looking forward to
getting their suitcases upon departure. Keep up the fantastic work you and your
volunteers do and simply showing children out there that people do care. For
all my years working working here, I consider us a agency with a heart Well I
personally thank you for helping us show our kids that total strangers out there
HAVE A HEART and PEOPLE DO CARE. thank you again for helping us help our
children of the future. There isn’t enough thank you’s I can give you and your
organization.

To Suitcases-4-Kids Team,
I volunteered on the day of the collection. That I could play that small part and get to be with you that day, as you so successfully met your goals for these kids, still fills my heart a week later!
The marketing you did in advance of the collection drive was exceptionally effective- donors mentioned emails, phone calls, flyers, churches, schools- you blitzed the area and reaped the rewards of your strategic advance work.
That you could exceed your goal is a testimony to each of you and to your team. On behalf of 1300+ kids, all I can say is, bless you!

I met Ron Nickerson for the first time at the end of May.
The meeting took place over the phone and without him being physically present.  I was struck by this man’s intensity of commitment that he was going to do something about getting suitcases to children in Foster care.
What his team accomplished in less than 4 weeks from my first meeting with him produced results that surprised me.В The result was way over the target by hundreds of suitcases.
This man is someone to pay attention to.

I am writing to honor the Suitcases 4 kids team and THANK all of the people that dropped off suitcases! Understanding what it must be like to move all the time AND with everything you own thrown into a trash bag….I shudder at the thought…THANK YOU for bringing suitcases that will change a childs’ life…it will change the experience of moving from one place to another. I dont know if I would ever really know how it feels, but wonder if they will feel a piece of home with them all of the time now, because of YOU caring? Thank YOU!
